The Man Behind Commander Shepard

Okay, so people have been positing the concept of a Mass Effect movie for ages, and someone suggested Idris Elba as the titular Shepard.

Except, Shepard’s story is hard to translate to screen. The story telling mechanic of CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE is just weird to translate. Do you just choose the most popular shepard (male or female? paragon or renegade? what do they look like? who do they romance?)

… Or do you make a movie about the galaxy’s original human badass. A man thrust into an ever expanding worldview universe-view. A man who fought aliens, only to have to adjust to a world among them.

The story of Lt. David Anderson. There’s your movie.
